The seed size is the limiting factor. Normal cereal seeds are too large for the feed rollers.Practical application in agricultureOn extensively cultivated grassland, it is difficult to perform soil cultivation. A direct seed drill is the solution. Stones directly under the turf? No problem! The spring-loaded coulters swing freely and glide easily over such obstacles. The seed drill is also suitable for sowing special seed types in existing crops, such as clover in clover-poor meadows. It is also suitable for sowing herbs and other vegetables (organic farming).Golf courses, sports fields, and other green areasThe direct seed drill has proven to be an excellent machine for renewing sports fields, golf courses, and parks. The unique seeding units consist of "skids" with two slots and sharp, adjustable coulters. This prevents tearing up loose soil, stones, and plant residues. Fairways on several golf courses have been successfully reseeded, and golf play could continue without interruption.For the maintenance and rejuvenation of sports fields and golf courses, it may be necessary to perform overseeding. For this, we can supply a special skid for the seeding units, based on our long experience in seeding on golf courses.Unique coultersOur unique coulters consist of "skids" with two slots and sharp, adjustable coulters with adjustable ground pressure. The coulter pressure can be set from 10 kg up to higher pressure using a spring on each coulter arm and hydraulic depth wheels (standard on all machines). Each skid has two longitudinal slots. A hardened steel knife in front of each slot can be adjusted up or down to achieve the desired sowing depth. The seed is placed directly in the rows created by the sharp coulters. This system has proven to be better than both ordinary coulters and disc coulters. The seeding units consist of "skids" with two slots and sharp, adjustable coulters. UM7900 has 21 seeding units with a total of 42 coulters, 42 rows, and a row spacing of 6 cm. Working width 2.5 m. UM7950 has 25 seeding units with a total of 50 coulters, 50 rows, and a working width of 2.5 m. UM7966 has 33 seeding units with a total of 66 coulters, 66 rows, and a working width of 3.5 m. Otherwise, the 5 machines are exactly the same.CoultersThe seed drill has a seed hopper with feed rollers. Each seed hopper has 26, 34, 42, 50, or 66 outlets (1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, or 4.0 m machine). The seed quantity is centrally and steplessly adjustable from 0 to 50 kg/ha (5 kg/decare). (Since the thousand grain weight can vary greatly, it is recommended to calibrate the seed rate control before starting sowing.)Speed – CapacityFor the dosing system with movable feed rollers, the delivered seed quantity depends both on how far the feed roller is pressed into the housing and on the rotational speed of the roller. If the feed roller rotates too quickly, it starts to "cheat" because it rotates so fast that the seed does not completely fill the grooves of the rollers. The seed rollers are driven by a chain from a land wheel.
