The size of the seeds limits the use; regular cereal seeds are too large for the feed rollers.Practical use in agricultureOn superficially cultivated grassland, soil cultivation is often difficult. Here, the direct seed drill offers the perfect solution. Stones just below the turf? No problem! The spring-loaded coulters swing freely and glide effortlessly over such obstacles. The seed drill is also excellent for sowing special seed types into existing crops, such as clover in clover-poor meadows. It is also suitable for use in organic farming for herbs and other vegetables.Golf courses, sports fields, and other green areasThe direct seed drill has also proven itself for the renewal of sports fields, golf courses, and parks. The unique seeding elements consist of "sleds" with two slots and sharp, adjustable coulters. This prevents loose soil, stones, or plant residues from being torn up. On many golf courses, fairways have been successfully reseeded without interrupting play.For the maintenance and rejuvenation of sports fields and golf courses, it may be necessary to sow crosswise. For this, we supply special sleds for the seeding elements, based on our long experience in golf course reseeding.Unique coultersOur unique coulters consist of "sleds" with two slots and sharp, adjustable coulters with adjustable ground pressure. The coulter pressure can be adjusted via a spring on each coulter arm and hydraulic depth wheels (standard equipment on all machines) from 10 kg upwards. Each unit has two longitudinal slots. A hardened steel knife in front of each slot can be adjusted up or down to achieve the desired sowing depth. The seed is placed directly into the rows created by the sharp coulters.This system has proven to be better than conventional coulters or disc coulters. The direct seed drill is available in four working widths from 1.5 m to 3.0 m. The UM7900 has 21 seeding elements with a total of 42 coulters, 42 rows, and a row spacing of 6 cm at a working width of 2.5 m. The UM7950 has 25 seeding elements with a total of 50 coulters, 50 rows, and a working width of 3.0 m. Otherwise, the four models are identical.Seeding elementsThe seed drill has a seed box with feed rollers. Each seed box has, depending on the machine width (1.5, 2.0, 2.5, or 3.0 m), 26, 34, 42, or 50 outlets. The seed quantity is centrally and steplessly adjustable from 0 to 50 kg/ha. Since the thousand grain weight can vary greatly, calibration before sowing is recommended.Speed – CapacityFor the dosing system with adjustable feed roller, the seed quantity depends both on how far the roller is pushed into the housing and on its rotational speed. If the roller turns too quickly, the seed may not completely fill the grooves. The feed rollers are driven by a chain from a ground wheel.
